Once again it our meeting showed the depth of knowledge available to us all. Paul Trolove created a wonderful presentation on scrapers. He demonstrated the techniques for sharpening scrapers and putting the edge. They fascinating thing was the burnisher was not used with a huge amount of pressure – some were under the impression the white knuckle method was required.
During the presentation Paul referred to the following Fine Woodworking articles
- Fine Woodworking – Issue 227
- Fine Woodworking – Issue 189
- Fine Woodworking – Issue 74
Niven brought along a scraper that doesn’t need sharpening – you can find more information here
After the evening cup of tea, show and tell was held. Two interesting pieces of work were shown, the first was a gift turned by Joe Farrow (Stunning), and the second a piece of work Peter Field was undertaking – good luck with that Peter.
